The coming of the Great Tapestry of Scotland to the New Lanark Institute for a month-long stay, starting this week, is expected to draw thousands of extra visitors to the area while a legal document, dating back over 30 years, has been unearthed in the fight to prevent a former Biggar Kirk becoming a pub, restaurant and brewery.

Budding singers or other acts will flock to Lanark Auction Market early next month as Britain’s Got Talent producers scout the area for un-tapped talent and we speak to Forth comedian John Gavin ahead of his show at Biggar Little Festival.
