In Lanark a woman has been hospitalised and three other people subjected to attacks on them by swans at Lanark Loch while in Carluke the town is busy preparing for this weekend’s Jam and Ham Festival.

Clydesdale will be home to yet another huge windfarm as the government approved plans for the highest turbines on the UK mainland, near Crawfordjohn and despite fierce opposition from local residents to the proposed Hill Rig Windfarm, the vast majority of mail sent to South Lanarkshire Council on the controversial plan has supported it.
