Whitelee walkers set a good example

A parent and baby walking group at Whitelee Windfarm has been chosen as a national case study by a Scottish charity.

Paths for All has selected The Whitelee Stroller Striders to feature on its website, in the hope of encouraging others to set up similar groups.

The local buggy walk has been running for over three years, and up to 28 mums, dads and babies come along weekly for the four-mile stretch around the wind farm.

Countryside ranger Maree Morrison, manager of the group, said: “It’s a great group to be part of and it seems to be ticking along successfully.

“We have about six walkers who came with their first baby and have come back with their second baby too, which is great.”
