Woman charged with having dog which killed sheep

At Lanark Sheriff Court on Thursday the case was called of a Carluke woman accused of allowing her dog to twice attack and kill sheep at local farms.

The woman, 31-year-old Rochelle Purdie of 55 Gair Crescent, did not appear personally but her solicitor wrote to the court, asking that the matter be continued without plea until June 9 to allow further investigations to take place. Sheriff O’Carroll granted the request.

She is charged with having, on December 18, 2015 been the owner of a husky dog which worried, chased and injured and killed sheep at Bogside Farm, Carluke and, on March 7, 2016, been the owner of a husky dog which worried, injured and killed sheep at Hillhead Farm, Carluke.
