Woodfarm and St Ninian’s do literary lunch

Woodfarm and St Ninian’s bookworms celebrated Book Week Scotland with a visit from author Alex Nye.

The writer behind Shiver and Chill launched her new book Darker Ends as part of the week-long celebration, and visited St Ninian’s for a literary lunch.

She commented: “The pupils were great! Our librarians have obviously made a difference, fostering a love of reading.”

The kids also organised book-related events, including bookmark-making, literary quizzes and a caption competition which, combined with book sales, raised £160 for Unicef and Oxfam.
