Would-be raider was using ladder to break into Briggs home

POLICE are hunting a suspected house raider who was caught in the act.

The suspect was disturbed at around 5am on Saturday, March 16, in Mailing Avenue, Bishopbriggs.

He had taken a ladder from an insecure garage and had rested it against the wall of a neighbouring property.

Any information can be passed on to Kirkintilloch Police by calling 0141 532 4400.

Meanwhile, a householder was left counting the cost last week after vandals smashed a living room window.

The property in Westergreens Avenue, Kirkintilloch, was targeted between 4pm and 5pm on Monday, March 11.

* In other news, a woman has been charged with stealing two bottles of aftershave from a high street chemist.

The 33-year-old was arrested by police at around 12.40pm on Monday, March 11, in the Kirkintilloch branch of Boots. A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
