Yes Cathcart get down to canvassing

Yes Cathcart have been out and about promoting their campaign ahead of September 18’s independence referendum vote.

The southside group took part in a national mass canvass last week organised by the Radical Independence Campaign (RIC) and reported from their patch a 43 per cent vote for yes, 36% for no and 32% undecided.

Campaigner Paul Leinster told The Extra: “The idea is to get into areas and speak to voters who maybe feel disengaged from politics and the political system as a whole, and who we think have the most to gain from independence.”

The group followed up with a canvass of 208 voters in Newlands/Auldburn on Sunday, and reported a 59 per cent yes result, with no at 18% and undecided 23%.
