Clydesdale schools anti-sectarianism 2014 Slideshow

The specially arranged friendly matches saw S2 pupils from both schools playing in mixed teams against each other.

Around 60 kids took part in the games on the Racecourse’s Astroturf pitches and enjoyed taking part, while making new friends along the way.

Annyse Ewing, from Lanark Grammar’s PT Pupil Support department who helped organise the event, said these kind of initiatives will help show sectarianism the red card once and for all.

She said: “It’s very worthwhile; the pupils enjoyed meeting each other and many of them have kept in touch on social media.

“A substantial grant from Sense of Sectarianism was gratefully received to fund the event.”

Lanark Grammar is working towards anti-sectarian accreditation through Nil By Mouth, a charity set up to tackle bigotry.
