Into the final and Willie Scott got off to a flier. A 37 break helped him to a 1-0 lead. His lead was short lived though as Pat soon pulled it back to 1-1 with some clinical safety. In the third Willie ground Pat down and a few small breaks later was back ahead at 2-1. In the fourth Willie had a great chance to take victory but missed a sitter to the corner bag. Pat pounced and the game was now level at 2-2.

As both shook hands at the start of the fifth the tension in the hall was unbearable. Both had chances and as the frame approached its conclusion it looked like Pat was going to take victory. With three reds remaining Pat was 20 up and on a red. He missed, the red stayed over the bag and Willie pounced. Willie potted it, landed perfectly on the pink and proceeded to make a 50 clearance and take the title!

The highest break of the event was a magnificent 123 by former professional Mark Boyle.

Well done to Mark on the high break and to Willie for winning the event.
