In a day of ideal weather conditions this was a fast and exciting game of two halves.

Kirby opened the scoring for the visitors 10 minutes into the game with a try on the wing after a spell of persistent pressure on the home line.

However it didn’t take Glen’s long to respond when McKeown, from 20 metres out, eluded five defenders to score between the posts. Watt added the extra points.

Although play was pretty evenly divided it was Annan who scored two tries before the break one - from McCann and one from Glass which McCann converted - to lead 17-7 at half-time and leave things looking rather bleak for Glen’s.

But a complete transformation in the second half saw Glen’s score three tries, all touched down by McKeown aided by good work from McConnell, Moore, Lowe and Moffat.

Watt converted all three tries and added two penalties giving Glen’s a clear margin of 17 points.

But as happened the previous week the home side took their foot off the gas and allowed Annan back into the game.

In the last five minutes the visitors ran in two tries, one by Kirby and one by McCann which he converted himself, and alarm bells rang in the Glen’s camp.

But they held the lead due to some desperate defending.

The Bishopbriggs side are now fifth in the table after three wins and four defeats from their opening seven games.

Next up this Saturday is a trip to bottom-of-the-table Irvine who have lost all seven games so far.
