Belstane horses shine in Dubai

ALTHOUGH we were freezing in chilly Clydesdale last weekend, Carluke horse trainer Keith Dalgleish had at least one eye on sunny Dubai!

However, it was more business than pleasure for Keith as he watched from his Belstane Racing Stables as his horse Stonefield Flyer raced at the fantastic Meydan course and finished in a credible 14th place.

If Goodwood is described as glorious then the only word for Meydan would be majestic and the horse, ridden by Royston French, put on a show worthy of the occasion although it did finish well behind the winner of the race – Tamaathul ridden by Paul Hanagan.

Keith also saw rising star Santefisio finish eighth out of a field of 16 and predicts big things for the horse this year as he bids to try and eclipse the 52 winners that the stable landed last year.
