Boxers in action

Sean Malone fought well in his first ever competitive bout and though he lost the judges’ decision he put in a fine performance.

Also making his competitive debut was James McKenzie who won his fight along with the Boxer of the Night award.

And Stephen Beattie, a senior boxer, won his fight in the 60 kg category with a unanimous decision.

Golden Gloves boxers will also be competing this Friday night in a show at the Burroughs Club in Cumbernauld which is being organised by Broadwood Boxing Club.

This starts at 8pm and sees a select team of local boxers taking on opposition from all over Scotland.

There will be a wide range of competitors ranging from 12 to 23 years of age in an action-packed night featuring twelve bouts.
