Kieran said: “It’s grassroots and we’re at the stage where we’re trying to get as many people involved as possible, with some volunteers undergoing vetting and training at present.”

“I’ve been in Govan for several years. Talking to people I began to realise that there isn’t much for young people to do in the area. I’m from a football training background and felt that kids needed something locally where they could train. Not all kids like to play football, so this would be more like a community hub where kids could come and get fit.”

Govan Community Boxing Club is open to both boys and girls under the age of 18.
