The superheavyweight meets experienced Rob Beech from Prescott for the WFKKO version of the belt at St Bride’s Hall in Motherwell on Saturday.

McLeary admits the juggling act of promoter and headliner is tough.

He said: “It’s a wee bit stressful, there are a lot of things I thought I knew but it turns out I didn’t. However, we are getting there.

“The biggest problem has been trying to keep myself fit and focus on my own work in the gym at the same time.

“However, I am working with Gordon Russell nowadays and he is one of the most respected trainers in the UK, so he’ll have me ready.

“Rob is a big boy, he’s 6’ 3” and over 110kg, plus I know he can fight. However, this is his first time at this level of full-contact kickboxing so regardless of his MMA skills I am hoping my experience will carry me through.”

McLeary has also opened Infernal Fitness in Merry Street to give himself a base, and three of his prodigies will also be on the card.

Darren Smith, from Motherwell, goes for the 72kg WFKKO Scottish amateur title while Clara McFarlane, from Wishaw, and Alan Drain, from Easterhouse, will both fight over three two-minute rounds.

McLeary would like to thank sponsors Clyde Scaffolding Ltd, Imperial Bar, Hed Kandi Salon, Commercial Hotel, Stanford Logistics Ltd and Construction Solutions Ltd.

Doors open at 6.30pm, with the first bell at 7pm, and tickets costing £25 are available from any of the fighters or call McLeary on 07950304267.
