Clubs lok up deals

FOOTBALL clubs of the southside have been busy in the transfer market .

After a 2-0 loss to Peterhead, Queen’s Park boss Gus Macpherson hopes the acquisition of 23-year-old midfielder Tony Wallace from Greenock Morton can help to turn the club’s fortunes around.

Craig Sutherland, who spent four years playing in America on a scholarship, has also been signed.

The 25-year-old signed from Woking FC, where he joined after a spell at Blackpool.

Queen’s Park travel to Borough Briggs on Saturday to face Elgin.

Meanwhile, Pollok have made a move to help fill the void of top-scorer Richie Barr, who has agreed terms with Irvine.

Troubled midielder Adam Strachan has joined until the end of the season.

The ex-Partick Thistle footballer pled guilty at Glasgow sheriff court for being in possession of a class A drug last year.

Strachan was caught by police with £2,000 worth of heroin down his boxers.

He was given a community payback order with the condition he must be supervised for six months and carry out 240 hours of community work.

The club face Arthurlie at Dunterlie Park on Saturday. Kick off is 2pm.

Pollok drew 1-1 with Cumnock on Saturday.
