Colville Park led 2-0 thanks to goals by Robbie Peebles and Kevin Fotheringham, but they were pegged back as Stenhousemuir netted twice before half-time to earn a replay.

Stenny – looking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time in their history – came roaring back with goals from captain Stuart Comrie and striker Ross Kelso and might even have won had they not had a second half ‘goal’ chalked off.

In a major blow for the Motherwell team during the match, top scorer James Miller sustained a broken ankle after a Stenny player’s challenge and he was whisked off to hospital by ambulance.

The replay will be played to a finish at Russell Park, Larbert, this Saturday with a 1.30pm kick-off.
