The fifth year Biggar High School pupil shone on the wing during the opening game of a trio of matches played at Wellington College in Berkshire between April 4 and 12.

“Peter did fantastically well,” said his proud mum Liz.

It was an amazing experience for him to make his debut at that level.

“For one of his tries, he pushed past six or seven players on the way through to scoring.

“It came as no surprise to me, as Peter is six feet one and very strong in possession.”

Peter only played 10 minutes of Scotland’s second game of the tour – a 48-0 loss to Wales – before taking to the field for the final game of the tour on Saturday, a creditable 34-14 loss to a physically powerful England South West side.
