Cumbernauld teenager meets heart-throb diver Tom

Another sporting great took the chance to visit Glasgow to promote Glasgow 2014 and found some familiar faces waiting for him.

Tom Daley who is a double Commonwealth and Olympic medallist appeared at the city’s Old Fruitmarket venue in front of hundreds of screaming fans.

Also waiting to meet him were Commonwealth Games mascot Clyde and the Cumbernauld schoolgirl who created him, Craigmarloch’s Beth Gilmour.

Tom (19) who is pictured here with Beth and Clyde 1’s Romeo donned the kilt which bears the Glasgow 2014 tartan and even took part in a dance routine with Clyde.

Beth’s mum Christine said: “Beth had a great time meeting Tom. She said was great fun and really down to earth plus he was more than happy to wear the kilt.’’

Tom is just the latest sporting star the 13 year old Lenzie Academy has had the pleasure to meet in the run-up to the games.
