The World Disabled Team Golf Cup, will be a five-day event which will take place from Monday July 22 to Thursday July 25.

The event will also offer a free “First Swing Clinic” that will be held on Sunday, July 2, which will give disabled people an opportunity to practise or to learn about golf, through lessons with PGA professionals.

It is hoped that this event will be a great opportunity for disabled people throughout Scotland to become involved in golf.

Mr Hepburn has also written to the Westerwood Hotel, to pass on his best wishes and support.

He said: “I am very happy to welcome the World Disabled Team Golf Cup to Cumbernauld in 2013, and I’m sure the Westerwood will be a great choice of venue for this event.

“This event will be a great opportunity for disabled people not only in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, but throughout Scotland, to explore their interest in golf with some expert advice to hand.

“I hope the event is a great success and I wish all participants the best of luck.”
