Donnelly looks ahead to meeting Cumnock

Will Pollok repeat their 16-0 drubbing of Muirkirk against visitors Cumnock this Saturday?

Pollok return to action when they host Cumnock in the Scottish Junior Cup 4th round this Saturday.

Cumnock will be looking to avenge their last result with Pollok in this competition, the two sides meeting at the same stage of the 1995/96 tournament where Pollok ran out comfortable 5-1 winners.

The last meeting between the two sides in March 2014 finished in a 1-1 draw, a result that aided Cumnock on their way to a fifth place finish, while edging Pollok nearer to the drop.

Like Pollok, Cumnock were idle last Saturday owing to the weather. Their most recent fixture saw them triumph over neighbours Glenafton Athletic by a 3-2 scoreline, a result that lifted them to 9th in the Premier League table.

Whilst they have struggled for consistency this season, they have picked up some good results, the most eye-catching of these being a whopping 16-0 win over Muirkirk in the group stages of the Ardagh League Cup.

Pollok manager Tony McInally will be hoping to include new boys Dean Richardson and Ryan McCann in his matchday squad after signing them on loan from League Two side Peterhead.

Kick off for this encounter at Newlandsfield Park will be 1.45pm.
