Fifteen in a row for Douglas Water golfer

STEWART Henderson has now won a mind-boggling 15 consecutive club championships at Douglas Water Golf Club.

Stewart’s latest victory this summer was his 20th Douglas Water title in total and put him even further ahead of his boyhood mentor Harry Gold who won seven Douglas Water championships in the 1960s.

“I knew Harry as a young man and he took me under his wing,” said mortgage broker Stewart (47), who plays off a an impressive +1 handicap.

“He always taught me to concentrate on the short game, and that is comfortably my biggest golfing strength.”
