Bully Wee go into second place

Clyde moved into second place in the Scottish League Two on Saturday with a win over Stirling Albion on Saturday.

The three points sees the Broadwood outfit on the same points as league leaders East Stirling, but top side have a game in hand.

Bully Wee boss Jim Duffy made three changes to the side that beat Berwick last week, bringing in Scott Ferguson, Brian McQueen and Stef McCluskey to replace the suspended Iain Gray, Ryan Frances and Kevin Watt.

Clyde went ahead early in the game when former Cumbernauld United player, defender David Marsh, diverted a Stuart McColm low cross into the net.

Pat Scullion had a couple of chances to increase the home side’s lead, but he was unable to find the target.

Duffy’s men did go further ahead before half-time, when Scott Ferguson fired a McCluskey cross into the net via the post for his second goal of the season.

Albion pulled a goal back ten minutes into the second half when Bradley Coyne latched on to a loose ball and fired it in past Barclay.

This counter spurred on the Albion and they pushed forward looking for the equaliser, forcing the Clyde defense and keeper Barlay into action.

A Chris Smith shot hit the crossbar, and Barclay prevented Coyne’s powerful free-kick from finding the net.

Clyde’s Gavin Brown recieved a second yellow card and was given his marching orders just moments before the final whistle.
