Karen Dunbar cancels remaining tour dates after alleging she has been paid for only five of 40 dates
Comedian Karen Dunbar has cancelled her remaining tour dates after alleging she has been paid for only five of 40 scheduled performances.
Comedian Karen Dunbar, best known for her roles in Chewin’ the Fat, has cancelled the remaining 20 dates of her Aw Roon the Hooses tour after alleging that she has been paid for just five of the almost 40 shows she has performed.
The comedian, actor and DJ posted the update on Instagram and said that she had been left “gutted” by the development, but said the she had been under “unbelievable” stress due to the lack of payment.

In a video on her official Instagram, Dunbar said: “Hello, I'm gutted to tell you this, but my tour is cancelled. I've got 20 shows left, they'll not be going ahead.
“And the reason is, is because the promoter hasn't been paying me. I've been doing the tour for the last two months. I've done 39 shows. It would have been 40, but one of the shows was cancelled without me being told.
“And I've been paid for five shows, so I can't go on.
“Honestly, I've never been in a situation like this in my life. The stress has been unbelievable, and I am so sorry for the people that have bought tickets and will be coming. Hopefully you'll be able to get a refund. Through the promoter or through where you bought them anyway, I'm not going to say any more than that.”
Dunbar ended by saying that more details were likely to emerge at a later date “because we're going to court.”
It is understood that dates in 2027 promoted by Punchline Promotions are not affected by the cancellation, including Peebles on 23 January 2027, Greenock on 5 February 2027 and on Shotts 27 March 2027.
Dunbar did not name the promoter or which shows were cancelled.
