Brendan Rodgers backed to become West Ham United manager as Celtic boss branded perfect Hammers solution
Brendan Rodgers has been backed as a possible option to become the next manager of West Ham United.
The Hoops boss’ stock is rising higher and higher in Glasgow’s east-end. After a double last season including Premiership title glory, he’s already booked a Premier Sports Cup final spot and has won all but one league game this campaign, a draw with second-placed Aberdeen.

David Moyes left the Hammers helm during the summer and was replaced by Julen Lopetegui. It’s been a far from ideal start for the ex-Sevilla, Wolves and Real Madrid boss though, with West Ham 14th in the Premier League. They were swept aside by Nottingham Forest at the weekend via a 3-0 scoreline.
Former Tottenham, Liverpool and Sunderland striker Bent believes that Rodgers would be one man who would be a good shout to replace him. Celtic would not give up their boss willingly and Rodgers himself has only just about built bridges with the Hoops support after a less than popular decision to leave for Leicester City mid-season during his first spell in charge.
Regardless, Bent believes with Celtic en-route to title glory again, Rodgers is a man the Irons could do with. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “Brendan Rodgers, I’m telling you now, he could be the one. He plays some nice football. He’s going to win the league again up in Scotland.”
