Celtic 'leading chase' to sign potent EFL strike duo with ex Man United star eyed as part of bargain transfer swoop
League One striker has been banging in the goals for Plymouth Argyle and now a growing numbers of clubs are circling
Celtic are reportedly leading a growing pack of clubs chasing Plymouth Argyle’s prolific frontman Lorent Tolaj in addition to his strike partner Bim Pepple.
The Hoops have been keeping tabs on the forward pairing who have scored 29 goals across all competitions this season combined, with former Manchester United youth Tolaj contributing the lion’s share with 18.
A £1.2m summer addition from Port Vale, Tolaj’s form has alerted scouts from a number of English sides plus the Scottish champions, who the Daily Mail claim are ‘sensing a bargain’ summer deal.
Ex-Luton Town marksman Pepple - snapped up for just over £250,000 - has also been a huge hit at the Pilgrims, who are managed by former Red Devils, Everton and Watford midfielder Tom Cleverley.
Both players are attracting plenty of suitors, with clubs in Turkey and in the MLS tracking the 23-year-old who was born in Kettering but qualifies to represent Canada on the international stage.

With his transfer value steadily increasing o around £600k, Pepple could be lured abroad this summer with Minnesota United and Montreal battling Celtic for his signature.
Plymouth have enjoyed a resurgent period on the pitch following their relegation from the EFL Championship last season. The Home Park club rattled off three successive victories earlier this month, which included inflicting a first defeat of 2026 on leaders Cardiff City.
Their upturn in league form has been largely down to the scoring prowess of their potent strike duo, whom the Devon-based side hope can fire them into play-off contention.
