Premier League clubs on high alert as 22-goal Celtic starlet's future in limbo amid contract extension delay

Celtic youth starlet Daniel Cummings is reportedly yet to receive a formal offer of a contract extension to keep him at the club beyond the summer - putting clubs south of the border on high alert.
The 18-year-old has been in sensational scoring form for the Hoops B-team this season, notching an impressive 22 goals in 20 matches, including five in the UEFA Youth League. That has led a number of English Premier League clubs to monitor the forward’s progress.

According to Mail Sport, the Parkhead youngster is yet to be tabled a new deal, despite earning praise from first-team boss Brendan Rodgers for his goal scoring exploits in recent months. Rodgers was in the transfer market for a third striking option earlier this summer after Rocco Vata sealed a move to Watford.
But Celtic now risk letting another talented academy product depart the club with Cummings able to open talks and sign a pre-contract agreement with other interested parties from January 1st as he prepares to enter the final six months of his current contract.
The attacker could become the latest talent from the Lennoxtown conveyer belt to head for pastures new with fellow teenager Daniel Kelly recently following Vata out the door after putting pen to paper with Millwall.
