Clyde looking to bounce back against strugglers Shire

With no game last weekend due to the Scottish Cup, Barry Ferguson’s side have had to wait for the chance to bounce back from their disappointing home defeat by Queen’s Park in the last outing.

From being in a position to go top of the table Clyde have now slipped to fourth, six points adrift of new leaders Elgin, albeit with two games in hand.

The Queen’s loss was particularly disappointing as it came on the back of a superb win away to previous leaders Annan and Ferguson has made it clear to his players that he is expecting them to make amends.

Following the Queen;s defeat he said: “We’ve had a lot of praise over the last couple of months, but they’ve been hit back down and they need to come back from it. It’ll show me if they’ve got the mental strength.”

Meanwhile Clyde’s match against Annan, due to be played at Broadwood on Saturday, February 6, has been postponed due to Annan’s continued involvement in the Scottish Cup.

One man who won’t be involved in Clyde’s promotion push is under-20s coach Lee Sharp who has moved to Alloa Athletic after accepting an invitation from their new manager, and former Clyde team-mate Jack Ross, to be part of his coaching team.

Sharp joined Clyde as a youth coach in 2009 while still playing at junior level and later signed a playing contract.

Pat Keogh will continue to lead the youngsters in their SPFL Development League West campaign.
