Cumbernauld United lose out to strong Darvel outfit
The young United side is very much a work in progress and put up a decent performance but came up short against the quality and experience from the Ayrshire cracks, who ran out 3-0 winners.
After a fairly even start, United went behind when a harmless Darren Miller cross was dropped by Darren Hill in the United goal and Jordan Allan was first to react to fire the visitors ahead.

United’s Scott Thomson then fired agonisingly wide of the far post.
However, United were dealt a blow just after the half-hour mark when local boy Cameron Eadie rose unchallenged to bullet a header past Hill.
United went further behind five minutes into the second half when a Miller free-kick was headed down by Jordan Kirkpatrick to the unmarked Allan Mackenzie, who made no mistake from 10 yards.

McCabe was again unlucky not to properly connect with a Dale Fulton cross at the far post before Scott Thomson saw a fierce shot cannon off the face of Truesdale, who didn’t know much about it.
Cumbernauld are at home again, behind closed doors, this Saturday, against Kilwinning Rangers.
