After a goalless first half City, based this season at Broadwood, went in front early in the second period when Jenna Clark headed Hayley Lauder's free-kick delivery down into the path of Leanne Crichton who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

But Mist Edvardsdottir bundled home an equaliser following a corner to send the game into extra time.

City keeper Lee Alexander made a couple of vital saves to keep Valur our and it was time for penalties.

Both sides missed two of their first three penalties - Crichton netting for City but Mairead Fulton and Jo Love had their efforts saved, Fulton fromn a retake after scoring with her first effort.
