On 15 minutes Rossvale’s Smart Osadolor played a diagonal pass to Euan Baird who took the ball to the touchline and crossed into the box. The ball was cleared and landed at the feet of Craig Holmes whose shot from 20 yards was easily saved.

Vale of Clyde attacked on the right side again and won another corner on 24 minutes after Jamie Donnelly dived at the feet of a Vale striker and put the ball out.

From the corner Donnelly produced a double save, firstly from an overhead kick and then from the follow up shot.

Rossvale were caught again by another attack on the right side however, this came to nothing.

On the 43rd minute it looked like the deadlock had been broken when a looping header by Osadolor went into the net but the referee did not allow the goal to stand and gave Vale of Clyde a free-kick.

To add insult to Rossvale injury, from the resultant set piece Vale of Clyde mounted another attack and when a cross from the right was missed by everyone and landed at the feet Salim Kouider-Aïssa to tap it into the net.

The second-half got underway and it didn’t take long for Rossvale to show that they were not out of this match.

On 48 minutes a free-kick was delivered into the box and a bullet header by Ferguson went narrowly wide.

Rossvale continued to pressure and got their reward on 59 minutes as Baird delivered a cross to the back post for Holmes to head the ball into the net.

Rossvale made a change on 76 minutes when player-manager Brian McGinty came off the bench to replace Seaton.

Soon after, the ball was played to Anton McDowall and he cut it back to Kirk Forbes who had his shot blocked. The ball fell to Corey Irvine and his shot went wide of the post.

The visitors should have got the winner in the 80th minute when McDowall fired a cross into the box. It was missed by everyone and somehow went through the legs of Osadolor who had the easiest of chances to secure all three points.
