Waddell, gaffer of the Motherwell-based Lowland League outfit, has like the rest of minor Scottish football’s stalwarts below the Championship been denied overseeing matches or training sessions since the turn of the year.

He told the Motherwell Times: “Our under-19s have not kicked a ball at all this season. We’ve got 20s who’ve not kicked a ball either and that is a huge concern because you could lose people to the game.

"M ore or less the whole of Scottish football under-20s outwith maybe the Premier League have hardly kicked a ball all season and that’s a big concern going forward.”
