Motherwell looked comfortable throughout the game as they recorded a fourth Scottish Premiership win in their last five games.

The first half chance early on saw Livi's Nicky Devlin have an effort blocked by the Motherwell defence. At the other end, Liam Polworth's shot from a Lang cross was deflected off target.

After a couple of Motherwell attacks down the right flank orchestrated by Stephen O'Donnell, Livi's Jay Emmanuel-Thomas produced an audacious left footed effort from near the halfway line which didn't drift too far wide of Aaron Chapman's left hand post.

The Steelmen went 1-0 up on 22 minutes when Lang calmly cut inside and scored with a low shot.

Motherwell wasted a great chance to make it 2-0 in the 39th minute when Devante Cole shot over after a fine Polworth through ball.

But it wasn't long before the visitors doubled their advantage. In first half stoppage time, Watt scored the rebound after Mark O'Hara's free-kick had been palmed out.

Although Livingston had more possession after the break, they rarely loked like scoring.

The hosts had a chance on 74 minutes when Scott Pittman's delivery from the right was nodded off target by Scott Tiffoney.

There was a scare for the visitors on 83 minutes when Ciaron Brown's long throw into the box caused keeper Chapman difficulties in the swirling wind but the ball was cleared.

A fine run by Watt in the first minute of injury time saw him sprint forward and unleash a powerful 18-yarder that was turned wide by the keeper.

Motherwell: Chapman, O'Donnell, Gallagher, McGinley, Maguire, Campbell, Polworth, O'Hara, Watt, Lang (Long 81), Cole (White 45).
