Lang, 22, scored the opener as the Steelmen won 2-0 at Livingston last Saturday to make it four Scottish Premiership wins from five matches ahead of a lunchtime Fir Park test against Neil Lennon’s side.

Celtic will be a lot different game to Livingston,” Lang told the Times and Speaker.

“We’ll work on different things during the week, and obviously playing against them, they’ll have a bit more of the ball and you’ve got to get them on the counter, I think.

“There were times against Livingston when we countered and we looked sharp so I think it’s probably what we’ll work on and try and do against Celtic.”

Saturday’s win in West Lothian illustrated how Motherwell have improved in recent weeks after failing to win any of their first six league games.

Lang said: “Livingston is obviously a tough place to come to and get a result.

“Getting the two goals in the first half was nice, and to manage the game second half, I thought it was a really good performance from the team.

“We did everything that we worked on in the week.

“We all know that we didn’t have the start we wanted to have this season and things needed to change, but I think we’re doing the ugly side of the game a lot more.

“I think at the start of the season this would have been a lot tougher game for us, but we’re working on the ugly side because we know when the ball’s on the floor, we can play.

“Defensively we were really good, and I think if I can get a good run in the team the goals will come.

“As a front three, we’re dangerous. I think we’ll get goals. We’ve got a lot of quality up there, even coming off the bench. I’m happy we’re getting the goals and I think we can all chip in a bit.”

Lang, on loan from Wigan Athletic until the end of the season, respects the Scottish top flight, having previously played in the Championship, League One and League Two down south. He said: “In this league, it’s kind of a mix of all the English leagues, I think. It’s really different to England but every game’s tough.

“Hopefully, with a good run in the team I’ll really take some confidence from my goals and push on.”
