Rob Roy boss Stewart Maxwell was delighted to see his side maintain their impressive start to the season.

He said: “We had a poor start to the game and conceded an early goal but they showed great character to come back.

“At 2-2 a lot of teams would have tried to sit back and go for the draw but we made positive changes because we wanted to win the game and they paid off.

“The players have been excellent since the season began and suddenly we’re sitting second in the league with a top of the table clash against Hurlford in our next match.

“We’ll give Carluke every respect. They’ll be going into the game looking to take a scalp and we’ll stress that to the players.

“But we want to win the West of Scotland Cup. We don’t just want to play a couple of games so it’s important we treat this game in the same way we would any other and don’t take our foot off the gas.”
