Kilsyth to the fore against Camelon

With almost a full squad available the team looked much more assured.

New goalkeeper Andy Carlin was still out, having sustained a minor injury in training, so former custodian Michael Duke was back for his last appearance at Duncansfield.

David Waters and Chris Reid were back at the heart of the defence and overall it looked a much better balanced team.

Rangers made a good start with Joe Barclay getting onto a long pass into the Camelon box for his first goal of the season.

The lead was fairly short lived though as, within 10 minutes, former Kilsyth player Franny Kelly equalised with a fine strike from the edge of the penalty
area.

Rangers were having the best of what was turning out to be a very competitive game, Barclay and Prentice were creating many chances and Andreoni had a couple of very good efforts from
long range.

Barclay should have added a second goal when he was right through but shot straight at the Camelon ’keeper.

For Camelon Devlin had a good effort hit the bar and Kelly was also proving troublesome at times but the score remained 1-1 at the
interval.

However within seconds of the restart Barclay had added a second goal and only three minutes later Prentice made it three with a shot from close range.

Rangers had their tails up and Andreoni rattled the post before Prentice got his second goal of the day with 15 minutes
remaining.

Camelon came back into the game and grabbed a couple of goals to put a better complexion on the scoreline but overall this was a vastly better showing.

Kilsyth’s next friendly is at home to Linlithgow Rose tonight (Wednesday), kick-off 7pm, before they travel to face Bathgate Thistle at Creamery Park on Saturday, kick-off 2pm.
