Rabs boss: we need to take our chances

Rob Roy slumped to an unexpected defeat to bottom-of-the-table Arthurlie on Saturday - with the team remaining a win short of certain premiere league survival.

The shock 4-1 result was only Arthurlie’s fourth win of the entire season.

Rabs took an early lead but couldn’t drive home their early advantage.

Gaffer Stewart Maxwell said it was one of his team’s worst performances of the season: “Defensively we just weren’t good enough and the entire spine of the team was poor.

“We may have a young team but they all now have enough experience to deliver a better performance.

“I’m disappointed for the fans who turned out in force once again.”

The Kirkintilloch team now stand six points above the drop zone with three games left to play.

This Saturday they play Auchinleck Talbot in the third round of the West Of Scotland Cup.

Maxwell said: “We have to get our mindset right because going down there is never easy.

“We have to take our chances.”
