Title-chasing Rangers, Celtic and Hearts have discovered who they will face in their final five post-split matches
The Scottish Premiership’s post-split fixtures have been released by the SPFL as all 12 clubs gear up for their final five league matches of the season.
Defending champions Celtic and Rangers have discovered they will face off at Parkhead on Sunday, May 10 in the final Old Firm derby of the season, with table-topping Hearts going head-to-head with Edinburgh derby rivals Hibs on Sunday, April 26.
The final weekend of the campaign will be on the weekend of May 16/17 with the top six taking place on the Saturday and the bottom six on the Sunday. The three-way battle to finish top of the table could go right down to the wire, with Hearts, Rangers and Celtic all bracing for a potential ‘Helicopter Saturday’ scenario.
The Jambos have upset the odds, having led the way for the vast majority of the season. However, their lead over Rangers has been whittled down to just a solitary point and three ahead of Celtic in an engrossing title race.
Danny Rohl’s Rangers side will begin their final stretch of games at home to fourth-placed Motherwell, while Martin O’Neill’s Hoops host Falkirk a day earlier.
The Light Blues round off their league campaign with a third visit away to Falkirk, who have one more home game than all the other clubs due to a fixture imbalance. Celtic, meanwhile, close out their campaign against leaders Hearts in a blockbuster potential title decider at Parkhead.
