Dream Rangers XI if three transfer rumours true and triple signing make cut as 49ers back shopping spree

Rangers have got down to business as we reach the halfway point of this January transfer window.

Rangers are decking out Danny Rohl’s side with the tools for a title fight and they aren’t done spending yet.

Andreas Skov Olsen is the latest arrival on a loan deal with option to buy from Wolfsburg, adding to Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwaenie. There are still rumours aplenty over where else the 49ers and chairman Andrew Cavenagh may invest to give Rangers the best chance of Premiership title glory.

Head coach Danny Rohl said: "I cannot tell you exactly the number, but we are still looking for some more positions. I think this is not a secret with the injury of Connor (Barron). It changed a little bit also what we need as well in this position. We have strong players, we have with Chukwuani a new one, but there's still a long way to go and we have to make sure that our midfield is strong."

So from players at Sunderland to the new recruits, here’s how a revamped Rangers XI could look come February.

GK - Jack Butland

The shot-stopper has had a return to form this season.

RB - James Tavernier

There’s a conversation to be had over long-term options here but skipper is still more than capable of starring in blue.

CB - John Souttar

Scotland international is one the club will be keen to tie up long-term.

CB - Xavier Mbuyamba

Volendam centre-back is out of contract this summer and linked to Ibrox. There could possibly be a cut-price deal to be done if a sale is required.

LB - Tuur Rommens

One of the done deals. Belgian left-back will need a little bit of time to overcome a knock but will then battle Jayden Meghoma for this role.

CM - Nico Raskin

Belgian midfielder is in-demand but a likely starter for Rangers when fit.

CM - Tochi Chukwuani

Signing number one of the winter. Showed his class in a Sturm Graz win over Rangers this season and now brings that to Glasgow,

CM - Dan Neil

Sunderland midfielder has been linked with a move to Rangers alongside a host of other clubs. Hasn’t played much this season but was key as Sunderland were promoted to the Premier League last season. Boss Regis Le Bris said of his situation: “For me, I speak about the football perspective, and this is my main focus. For me, Dan is still important in the squad. Probably it's an important part of his journey now, because you know that when you have only six months left, the decision is really close, and I really appreciate the way we work together, so we'll see now if he will leave, or if he will stay for the next five months. The competition is so high, and we have so many good players in the squad now, and you have to accept this competition, but he never gave up, so I think it's very important. Now we'll see.

RW - Andreas Skov Olsen

Signing number three done by Rangers. Hasn’t happened for him at Wolfsburg but if he finds his Club Brugge form, then the club could have unlocked a game-changer.

ST - Kieron Bowie

Hibs forward has been linked to both sides of the Old Firm. Would provide a physical outlet for others around him to bounce off

LW - Mikey Moore

Tottenham loanee has started to show the potential that’s made him a top Spurs prospect.
