Rangers eye two transfer deals this week as one could be agreed in 'next 48 hours' amid difference makers hunt
Rangers are looking to seal some more transfer business ahead of the Premiership kick-off.
Derek McInnes hopes Rangers can seal one - possibly two - transfers before their Premiership campaign begins at Dundee United.
The Ibrox manager has undergone an extensive rebuild in the summer window but he’s far from done. He wants more creativity in his team and that could arrive before they reach Tannadice on Friday night. Vanja Dragojevic is their latest recruit after the likes of Lawrence Shankland, Dan Neil, Ross McCrorie and more so far in a busy recruitment period.
A race to get more in before a busy August kicks off is on at Ibrox but McInnes has high hopes. One move will be permanent and the other likely a loan, albeit with hopes it can also see the player be committed to Rangers longer term, and there will be news within 48 hours.
Who are Rangers signing next this summer?
McInnes said: "We are quite hopeful we've got one done at the minute, and hopefully we'll have some news on that in the next 48 hours. We're also trying to bring one more in if we can ahead of Friday night. I'd like that to be the case because we're still a bit short in one or two areas of the pitch.
"One is permanent, one might be a loan. Ideally, two would be permanent. We're a bit short defensively and we've got four games in 12 days coming up. We'll look to address that, but we also need those difference makers. A club like ours needs to have those guys that can isolate and can play off both sides naturally. We are looking for a wee bit more creativity to serve the strikers."
Rangers drew 0-0 with West Ham United in their final pre-season friendly of the summer ahead of league business beginning at Tannadice this Friday. McInnes added on the performance: “I'm pleased with a lot of it. We had a few knocks, Cammy Devlin with his calf and Thelo Aasgaard with his shoulder but they will be fine for Friday.

Derek McInnes on who will be Rangers captain
"The fact we've come through the game without any injuries is pleasing. We deliberately went with two different shapes in the first half and then the second half. The second half was to get a shape that would allow us to get the boys the minutes they needed. I thought we looked solid enough, which was an improvement from the other night.
"The intensity of the game was far better. We looked sharp, particularly in the first half. We got ourselves into some good areas, but our lack of quality at times let us down. The final cross or the decision not to shoot wasn't quite as clean as I would have hoped. "I feel as though I've made my mind up about that (captaincy) but I just wanted to see how everybody was with the armband and have a look from afar at how they are.
"I'm still talking to the staff because it's not been at the forefront of my thoughts, to be honest. I do understand the question and how it is a big thing particularly at this club. It hasn't been talked about a lot, but we'll make a decision on that this week."
