However, it was the eye-catching figure that has alarmed already incensed supporters and legendary Gers talisman McCoist was similarly dismayed by the staggering set of results.
Interim chairman John Gilligan revealed in a lengthy statement that it has been a “challenging period” for the club following wholesale changes behind the scenes and on the first-team playing squad front. Rangers have yet to fill the voids left behind by former CEO James Bisgrove and chairman John Bennett. while director of football operations Creag Robertson became the latest high-profile figure to hand in his notice.

Those losses, man, dear me. It’s really concerning. From the outside looking in, you can only hope they get it sorted quickly.
“They have a great guy in there John Gilligan and he'll do everything he can to get the show back on the road. There's no chief exec, chairman is temporary - it's absolutely anything from ideal.”

Hide AdMcCoist’s comments follow the Union Bears stance to double down on their mission to ‘force change’ at the club, having turned on the Gers hierarchy in recent weeks in light of Gilligan blasting their pyrotechnics show during the Europa League tie against Lyon which landed the club in hot water with UEFA.
The ultras group have joined a growing number of disillusioned supporters by calling out the shambolic off-field situation after their latest double banner display on Sunday. The first read: “Your ineptitude is destroying our club; time for fans to force change”, before another message held up in the second half of the 2-1 win over St Mirren said: “Worrying about thousands while wasting millions.”
A further warning has since been sent to the board after the group posted images of the banners on social media and their own website, captioned “Time for fans to force change.” It comes less than two weeks after they unfurled a similar disgruntled message in the 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock which stated: “The mismanagement of Rangers must stop and stop now.”
