Rangers ‘reluctant’ to sell £4m star as Danny Rohl Scottish Premiership title pursuit tactic made clear

Rangers are standing firm on this transfer stance as we enter the final days of the window

With just days left before the winter transfer window closes, Rangers rumours are circling quickly.

Danny Rohl and co are determined to keep pushing in their Scottish Premiership title chase. As they sit just four points behind Hearts, the top spot is well and truly in sight, which seemed unachievable while Russell Martin was in charge at the start of the season.

Rangers have added the likes of Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens on permanent deals this month, and there’s still time to finalise last-minute transfers.

However, while the Gers have strengthened their ranks to aid their title push, that also means they are reluctant to offload players of their own.

Rangers ‘reluctant’ to sell first team options amid Oliver Antman interest

According to Rangers Review, Rangers are ‘reluctant’ to let any first team players go during the winter window. Reclaiming the Scottish Premiership title for the first time since 2021 is a top priority for Rohl, and the club aren’t willing to weaken their ranks through unnecessary sales.

The likes of Danilo, Clinton Nsiala and Joe Rothwell will be permitted to leave if the right offer comes in but the Light Blues are standing firm on those they rely on regularly.

Feyenoord have ‘made enquiries’ over potentially signing Oliver Antman this month but the club board are adamant they will not let him leave at this stage.

The Finland international made his move to Ibrox last summer from Go Ahead Eagles, in a deal worth up to £4 million. Antman finished the Eredivisie season with six goals and 15 assists, which is why he stood out as a leading target for Rangers.

Danny Rohl player strategy revealed for Scottish Premiership title charge

Despite the temptation to sell Antman due to his inconsistent form this season, Rohl wants the winger on his books for the remainder of the campaign to keep numbers high. The report states that the German manager ‘wants the ability to carry two players in every attacking position’.

This will prepare Rangers for any injury setbacks they might encounter as they approach the final stretch of the Scottish Premiership season.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, the Light Blues are four behind Hearts and two ahead of rivals Celtic. The Jambos and the Hoops drawing in their latest Premiership clash was a huge boost for Rangers and they will hope to keep their winning run going.
