Rangers star 'likely' to leave Ibrox in January transfer window on one condition as he craves specific switch
The midfielder was consistently linked with moves away from Rangers in the summer transfer window.
A Rangers star could push towards an Ibrox exit in January - under one condition as he seeks a particular departure away from Govan.
The Light Blues are preparing for a Premier Sports Cup quarter-final with Celtic and still have Nico Raskin to call upon. He was heavily mooted for a switch to another club in the summer transfer window but has remained at Rangers and looks set to play a key role between now and January.
Rumours will almost certainly spark again, however, Rangers will only sell if their valuation is met. Saudi Arabian interest is also set for rejection by Raskin as he wants to fulfil his ambition of action in a top European league.
Will Nico Raskin leave Rangers between now and January?
Transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke claims: “Nicolas Raskin has no plans to join a Saudi Pro League team if he leaves Rangers in the January window, sources have told Football Insider. Raskin has remained at Rangers until the new year at least after being heavily linked away from the club throughout the summer window.
“Turkish side Besiktas came the closest to securing his signature, but were unable to match the Gers' lofty valuation of his services. The Belgian international has also attracted interest from Saudi club Al Ittihad, with their window still open, but Derek McInnes does not want to sell him without being able to sign a replacement.
“Raskin is not interested in moving to the Middle East anytime soon as he chases a move to a top European league. He will have to continue impressing for the Gers to earn such a move, with a January exit likely if a club meets their valuation.”

Derek McInnes on Rangers vs Celtic
McInnes said ahead of his first Old Firm as Rangers manager: : "I think we've got to bring the crowd with us. You're not going to play Celtic and dominate the game for 90 minutes. We'll have spells, they'll have spells, it's just the way it is. I think it's important that we tap into having that 50,000 behind us and be behind the players, support them, have their backs, not be on their backs and really make it as tough for Celtic as possible.
"We've got our part to play in that and I felt that if we can capitalise on good play and good opportunities, which we didn't do last night and we didn't do against Motherwell (also won 1-0) obviously, if we can get ourselves in front, give the crowd something to get behind, then I think the strength of our club can be shown. I think if the 50,000 can be utilised and we can have the strength of performance in the team that will help the team, it will be difficult to stop.”
