Thumping Rangers win vs Kilmarnock was important for 'the outside world' to see claims Ibrox boss

Philippe Clement asked for more goals and his Rangers star delivered as they turned on the style to breeze past lacklustre Kilmarnock 6-0 at Ibrox and narrow the gap on second-placed Aberdeen to four points with a game in hand.
Goals from James Tavernier, Danilo, Hamza Igamane, Vaclav Cerny and a second half Cyriel Dessers double wrapped up a convincing victory for the Light Blues against the Ayrshire outfit on a wet and wild night in Glasgow.

The Belgian boss told BBC Sportsound: “It was not only a good win, you score six goals and it could have been more. But also that you didn’t concede one because you defended really well as a team and whoever was on the pitch, you saw the same running lines and the same danger the team created.
“So it’s a massive one to show everybody who was maybe talking from outside that we had difficult against low blocks, that it’s about getting coordinated runs together and to get the right movement together and that takes time. That takes work together with videos, with training and with games.
“In that way, we did better stuff the last couple of weeks but we didn’t finish it off. That’s why it’s maybe important for the outside world to see these six goals but also for the confidence of the players because they feel good in this way of football.”
