Why Kevin Muscat to Rangers is 'not the right timing' as ex Ibrox teammate sends clear message amid Ibrox crisis
Ex-Rangers star Craig Moore reckons his former teammate and compatriot Kevin Muscat will be keeping a watchful eye on the Ibrox club’s managerial crisis - despite his team being involved in a title decider in China this weekend.
Australian boss Muscat - who has enjoyed successful trophy-laden spells with Melbourne Victory in his homeland and Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan during his managerial career - was close to being appointed as Michael Beale’s permanent successor this time last year, but narrowly missed out on the Light Blues job to Philippe Clement.

Moore has witnessed Muscat’s touchline prowess from afar, having already won Australia’s A-League and Japan’s J-League titles. The 51-year-old now finds himself in a strong position to add his third major league trophy with a win on Saturday that would see his current club Shanghai Port crowned champions of the Chinese Super League.
However, Moore has explained why now would not be the right time for the ex-Crystal Palace, Wolves, Rangers and Millwall hardman to make the move to Glasgow.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, Moore said: “If he wins that it would be his third title. But the timing for Kevin (to go to Rangers) in my opinion was when he was going head to head with Philippe Clement for the job. Now I'm not sure this is the right timing.

But he knows how to read the room and manage at the very very top. It's huge money out there. But what Kevin potentially would have been able to bring to the table is the Asian market and it's a bigger market than people probably think.”
