It will be Rabs’ first league match since their 2-1 win at Largs on January 21, due to a combination of postponements and cup commitments.

Rabs boss Stewart Maxwell admitted that his side weren’t at their best in Saturday’s West of Scotland Cup win at Ardrossan.

But he says that with his side fighting for trophies of multiple fronts, results rather than performances will be what matters in the weeks ahead.

He said: “We didn’t play well, we were quite lethargic. I’m not going to criticise the players because they’ve been excellent all season.

“We just didn’t play well on the day. Passing was careless, we missed numerous chances - though to be fair their keeper was excellent.

“But cup ties are all about winning. It wasn’t a vintage Rob Roy performance but at the end of the day they won the game and that’s what they were there to do.

“We played really attractive football up until Christmas. The first half of the season is all about performance; the second half’s all about winning.”

In contrast to Rob Roy, Arthurlie arrive at Guy’s Meadow with nothing to play for, but Maxwell warned that could make them more dangerous.

He said: “They’re coming not really under any pressure. They can’t challenge for the title and they won’t go down so they could play with a free-flowing attitude

“It will not be easy but we just have to do what we need to win the game and see where that takes us.”

Meanwhile Rob Roy have been drawn away to East Region champions Bonnyrigg Rose in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Junior Cup.

Maxwell said: “It’s not an easy draw but we seem to perform better in the bigger games and it’s one I’m looking forward to.”
