United chief executive George Watson is pleased to help out their local ‘rivals’.

He told the News and Chronicle this week: “Rob Roy were very impressed with our set-up here when they were looking for a new home.

“We are more than happy to bring them on board while their custom-built park is being prepared.

“We will be spending a bit more on the park pre-season to make sure it copes with games every week. However, having Rob Roy here will bring additional revenue into our club.”

As well as using Guy’s Meadow as their home ground, Kirkintilloch will also use the Hat-Trix complex for training.

“Guy’s Meadow will be a busy place next season, but we are happy to help out,” added George Watson.
