It’s the start of a hectic spell of three games in five days for the Kirkintilloch side who face league matches away to Kilbirnie Ladeside on Saturday and at home to Shettleston on Monday.

And with injuries to key players such as Danny Boyle, Kevin Watt and Gary McMenamin among others stretching resources, Rabs boss Stewart Maxwell is aware his squad will be tested to the limit by his side’s upcoming schedule.

He said: “We had seven players out on Saturday so we had to shuffle the pack and we’ll have to do it again in the games coming up.

“There’s no way we can start the same team in every match but it’s the same for everyone else.”

Rabs have already beaten First Division Clydebank this season, 2-0 in a Sectional League Cup quarter-final in August.

Wednesday’s winners are away to either Auchinleck Talbot or Cambuslang Rangers in the quarter-finals.
