Cumbernauld United, still reeling from an unceremonious dumping out of the Scottish Cup at the hands of Dalry travelled to Bo’ness and fired five goals past the local junior squad.

Having been thwarted by the Bo’ness keeper on three occasions, Cumbernauld broke the deadlock when Borland hit a fierce shot high into the net.

The visitors almost went two up but an inswinging 25-yard strike crashed off the bar.

A minute later a mix-up in the home defence saw O’Halloran pounce on a loose ball and slot it home into the empty net.

Bo’ness came close to pulling one back through Walker, but the United keeper scrambled to get a hand to his effort.

The Guy’s Meadow side went three up when Fraser fired home after good work by McCafferty and Zok.
