Youssef Chermiti hung in the air before sending a spectacular acrobatic effort beyond Celtic goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo to give Rangers the lead in last Sunday’s 2-2 Old Firm draw at Ibrox.
And with it the much-maligned Light Blues striker has sparked a debate on social media - was his incredible overhead kick the best goal EVER scored in 138 years of the famous derby fixture? It’s quite a claim given some of the memorable goals scored in this iconic match-up throughout the years.
Chermiti undoubtedly displayed astonishing technique as he rose with his back to goal to send Andreas Skov Olsen’s cross into the back of the net and send the home crowd wild. It marked the third of four goals scored against Celtic this season and will live long in the memory.
Here, GlasgowWorld picks out ten of the finest goals in Old Firm derby history that could rival Chermiti as the greatest of all time:

5. Bert Konterman - February 2001
The Dutchman was ridiculed by Celtic fans before the two clubs met in the League Cup semi-final at Hampden. Alex McLeish had not long taken over from Dick Advocaat, but the ex-Feyenoord man had the last laugh as he became the unlikeliest of heroes with a thunderous extra-time strike beyond Rab Douglas from the edge of the box to seal a 2-1 win - a competition they would go on to win that season. 6. Shunsuke Nakamura - April 2008
Japanese talisman Nakamura unleashed an unstoppable, swerving 30-yard strike for his first goal against Rangers at Parkhead. It left visiting keeper Allan McGregor with no chance and helped Celtic stay in the title race that they would go on to win on the final day of the season. | AFP via Getty Images

7. Shaun Maloney - November 2005
Ex-Scotland international Maloney, who currently serves as Martin O'Neill assistant, is no stranger to scoring a derby day beauty as he lit up this 2-0 League Cup victory by unleashing an unstoppable 30-yard drive beyond Stefan Klos after finding a pocket of space. | SNS Group

8. Pedro Mendes - August 2008
Portuguese midfield ace Mendes arrived at Ibrox from Portsmouth at the start of the 2008/09 season and showed his class with a trademark finish. Steven Davis played a corner back to Mendes and his low piledriver flew past Artur Boruc to set Rangers on their way to a 4-2 victory. | SNS Group
