Youssef Chermiti hung in the air before sending a spectacular acrobatic effort beyond Celtic goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo to give Rangers the lead in last Sunday’s 2-2 Old Firm draw at Ibrox.
And with it the much-maligned Light Blues striker has sparked a debate on social media - was his incredible overhead kick the best goal EVER scored in 138 years of the famous derby fixture? It’s quite a claim given some of the memorable goals scored in this iconic match-up throughout the years.
Chermiti undoubtedly displayed astonishing technique as he rose with his back to goal to send Andreas Skov Olsen’s cross into the back of the net and send the home crowd wild. It marked the third of four goals scored against Celtic this season and will live long in the memory.
Here, GlasgowWorld picks out ten of the finest goals in Old Firm derby history that could rival Chermiti as the greatest of all time:

9. Alan Thompson - August 2004
The first Old Firm clash of the season looked destined to finish goalless until a stunning late 85th-minute strike from midfielder Alan Thompson settled this contest. 10. Ugo Ehiogu - March 2007
Rangers may have been well out of the title race by the time of this Parkhead clash came around when Walter Smith had returned to clear up the mess left by Paul Le Guen. And it was big defender Ugo Ehiogu, who arrived on a short-term deal, who hooked a stunning overhead kick into the net from a corner to secure a 1-0 win. | Getty Images

11. Paul Lambert - January 1998
Lambert described his sensational strike in the New Year's Day clash as arguably the most important goal of his career as it proved vital in helping Celtic win their first league title for a decade. The midfielder's long-range thunderbolt from just outside the box arrowed in off the post to help clinch a 2-0 victory for Wim Jansen's side. | SNS Group

12. Andreas Thom - November 1995
This epic 3-3 draw at Ibrox had everything you could ask for including a wonder save from Rangers keeper Andy Goram to deny Pierre van Hooijdonk. But Goram couldn't do anything about Andreas Thom's howitzer. | SNS Group
